The Vow: My Review

On Friday, my husband took me to see "The Vow" and I went into the movie with low expectations since it had poor reviews. To my surprise the theater was packed with every seat taken.
We barely got a good seat as well.

Also, let me remind you that I don't cry at movies. Honestly! I didn't cry watching "The Notebook", "Titanic", " Marley & Me" and the list goes on. I've just never been the type to cry at movies.

I hate to admit this but I cried like a little baby watching this flick.
TRUST ME .... I was trying my hardest to hold back the tears.

What made me cry?

I think it's the fact that I'm a newlywed. Also, because the story is TRUE!! In 1993 the real life couple, were only married a few weeks when they both got into a severe car accident. This left the wife with no recollection of meeting, falling in love with or marrying her husband. It was heartbreaking to watch.

Mr. & Mrs. Carpenter
The Actors & The Carpenters

I'm not sitting here to tell you it's Oscar worthy.
I just think it was a good flick to watch and to feel for this real life couple.

Let me know what you think!

Visiting Jerome

A few weeks back while Kimber Lee was visiting we decided to venture off to Jerome, Arizona. It's a sleepy/hippy/ghost town in the hills of Northern Arizona near Sedona. Best known for it's wineries and ghosts. Also, Maynard Keenan from the band TOOL has a winery there called Caduceus Cellars.
He lives there as well.

I personally just like visiting Jerome and checking out the specialty shops around town.

Caduceus wine tasting!

I like visiting but spending the night.....is not an option in my book.
All the hotels are haunted! NO THANK YOU!

This past weekend, Ryan and his brother decided to spend the weekend in Jerome visiting all the wineries and staying at the famous JEROME GRAND HOTEL. From my understanding, this place use to be a hospital in the 20's.

I took this blurb from Wikipedia to give you some more information regarding the ghosts....

" After the United Verde Hospital became the Jerome Grand Hotel, many hauntings began to occur. According to ghostlyfavorites.com. "Due to the high level of activity in the hotel, it is a quite popular destination for amateur ghost hunters". Guests that have stayed at the hotel reported to hear coughing, labored breathing, and even voices coming from empty rooms. Guests also reported smells coming from rooms, such as flowers, dust, cigar smoke, and whiskey. Others report light anomalies and the television sets turning themselves on with no explanation. Two guests have also reported seeing the apparitions of two ladies, one in a white gown, and another one in a nurses outfit. Many deaths have been reported at the site, including the death of Claude Harvey, who was crushed to death by an elevator, the suicides of two maintenance people, both by hanging, and the deaths of many patients during the United Verde Hospital stage of the hotel. The hotel was featured on TV shows, such as Ghost Adventures and Paranormal Challenge."

Ryan and Tom did experienced some crazy stuff such as strange noises which I could hear while I was on the phone with Ryan. Tom heard screaming at 3 am. They both mentioned strange smells as well. All I know.... I WILL NEVER STAY HERE! Call me chicken but it's not my cup of tea. Gives me chills just thinking about it.

Quote of the Day

“Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow.
Just walk beside me and be my friend.”

Happy Birthday Tom!

Happy 32nd Birthday to my brother-in-law, Tom! He has a kind soul and always a blast to be around. He was the best man for our wedding since he was the best man for the job! I hope his birthday is filled with love, happiness, and a lot of great memories!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOM!

DANCING MACHINE!!!

Happy Anniversary Mr. & Mrs. Freund

I'm a little late with this blog but 1 year ago on Saturday was my friend, Mickie and her husband's wedding anniversary. A year ago, Ryan and I were in beautiful Sedona for the wedding! It was such a nice weekend! I remember waking up to snow on Sunday morning. Oh so chilly!!

Their wedding was a joyous affair and we were lucky to be a part of it. One of my favorite parts from their wedding was the photo booth! I think everyone spent a few hours playing with that. It was a like a playground for adults.

A girl with a fro....

I love how my sister sent me this photo a month ago and told me it reminded her of me??!!

WHAT!!!!!!

Should I be offended??!!

I guess not because I am pretty goofy!

Hmmm..now that I think about it ....my hair does look like that some days!

Maybe I should dress like this for HALLOWEEN??!! I have the hair & goofy smile already!
Now, I just need to very stylish red & pink heart dress!

This makes my heart melt!

Mcdonald's TEAL ARCHES!

Did you know that Sedona, Arizona is the only place in the world with TEAL ARCHES at Mcdonald's??!!

This is TRUE!

They wanted a color that was best suited for the surrounding areas. The yellow would clash with red rock beauty.

I'm always a sucker for these photo ops

Meet Lucas

Yesterday afternoon, my e-mail was flooded with pictures of this guy!! Aweeeee..LOOK AT THAT SMILE.... I can't wait to meet the little guy. Meet LUCAS! He will be coming to this world sometime in April.

Did you know LUCAS was in my wedding as well?
See picture below ;-)

Here are his proud parents!! Very exciting time for them both.

Myself and two lovely ladies have been busy bees planning their upcoming baby shower. I will be blogging those ideas after the shower in March. Keep your eye out for it!

Bonnie Raitt & Adele

Last week at my Valentine's dinner, " I can't make you love me" by Bonnie Raitt came on the radio and my sister in law, Nicole says that Adele had her own version of this at a live concert.

Since the 14th, I've heard it on Pandora like 5 times! It's crazy how you don't notice something until it's pointed out. Now, I'm in love with Adele's version.

Sorry for all the Adele post. You tell who my favorite artist is right now? ;-)

A Story about Dad

Story time!

Yesterday, my father called Ryan to wish him a happy birthday. He started the conversation off with birthday greetings and reminding Ryan to enjoy life because it flies so quickly after 30! He also mentioned to enjoy everything around such as his wife, friends and family and try not too work too much.

Ok... just hearing the fact that my dad told someone not to work too much was pretty hilarious since my father is a work-a-holic. I was already laughing at this point.

.....Back to the story.

After 20 minutes of telephone time and a great father & son-in-law conversation.

My dad had to cut Ryan short because he needed to get back to WORK!!!

Ryan was left puzzled!!

...WAIT...

What happened to not working too much??!!!

My dad cracks me up! He's always been a hard worker and provider and I love him for that!

Craving.....a margarita!

Happy Birthday Danielle

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIELLE!! Today, she turns 29! We have been friends since high school and I couldn't be more grateful for her friendship.

Goodness, we have lived so many chapters of our lives together
and I can't wait for the future chapters to come.

Many of you may remember Danielle from previous blogs in regards to her singing at my wedding.
Her singing is pretty amazing!

Have a lovely birthday Danielle! Wish I could be there to celebrate! Love you!

I wanna dance with somebody!

Since Whitney Houston passed away, I've been listening to her songs non-stop. I've always been a huge fan and this hit always puts me in a GREAT MOOD!

Great song to wake up to on this Wednesday morning! Yes.. I'm dancing!

Happy 30th Birthday HUSBAND!

Tomorrow's my husband's 30th birthday! As I like to joke.. THE BIG DIRTY 30!!!
30 years ago, he was brought into this world to be someone's son, sibling, friend, colleague, and husband.

YUP, MY HUSBAND!

He is one of a kind and has a heart of gold.
Words can't describe how blessed I feel to have him in my life.

On Saturday, we met up with Ryan's siblings for our traditional "Breakfast Club" gathering....and.... to celebrate his birthday early!

Ryan opened his BIG birthday card from me which gave clues to....... A TRIP TO VEGAS!!

SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 hrs later we were on a plane to VEGAS for the weekend!

Later that evening.....

We headed to the KA Cirque du Soleil show thanks to my parents!
They bought the tickets for Ryan's birthday!

It was a fun & quick trip! WE HAD A BLAST!
Also, I learned quickly that I'm a pretty good gambler and Ryan is horrible!
It made for some good laughs.

Happy Happy Birthday to the most amazing husband! Love you babes.
