Mint Juleps, anyone? Kentucky Derby Fun!

Today was my Kentucky Derby bridal shower, hosted by Bianca & Nicole. They put a lot of thought and creativity into this shower and I am very thankful for all their hard work. I truly appreciate it and feel so lucky to have you lovely ladies in my life. The shower was filled with love, laughter, "some dancing", and great food. We played games such as " Pin the Beard on Ryan" & " Wheel of Misfortune" (my apologizes for everyone that got MISFORTUNE...hahaha). We ended the shower with delicious Mint Julep cupcakes and Derby Hat sugar cookies. It was a lot of fun!! Again, A big thank you to Bianca & Nicole. Thank you to everyone that attended today. Enjoy the pictures.

Busy Bee

Truth: I have a tendency to do too much at one time. I'm known as a workaholic.

I'm not the type of person to be sitting down all day relaxing. I'm usually working on a project, planning a party, yard-work, decorating, blogging and the list goes on. My family, friends and fiance tell me I need slow down and "RELAX".

My father is also a workaholic and I get this trait from him. Some of you reading this know my father very well and know this trait to be true. He's known for juggling multiple projects at one time. I like to think my father and I are professional multi-taskers. Ryan is the perfect guy for me because he understands me better than anyone and knows how to get me to sit down every once in a while. He balances me out PERFECTLY.

This week, he bought me a book.

This book!
Hmmm...Is this a hint?? I'm not quite sure what to do with it. I think he wants me to read it. Right now, I'm too busy to be reading books so he will have to wait until after the wedding.

For now, I have found other ways to utilize it.

We have RINGS!

Over the weekend, we finally bought our wedding bands. We had them picked out a few months ago, but have procrastinated about buying them. Our time has been consumed with other wedding related things so we kept forgetting to buy the rings. Maybe it was a good thing we waited this long to buy the rings because Ryan already wants to wear it. He wanted to wear it as soon as we bought it. Crazy guy! He's not allowed to wear it until the big day. Rules are rules! I did catch him wearing it for about 10 mins. He claims he was "test driving the ring". Here's the rings we have chosen. Can't wait to wear it!

Custom Stationery

At my Bee-utiful bridal shower, I received some fun personalized stationary from two lovely ladies. These gifts were personalized with my future name or initials. Wow! This is all becoming very real but I'm thrilled about it. The stationary, I received was absolutely beautiful! I had to share it.

Katherine was the designer of Bee-utiful shower invitation. She also owns a stationery business called Rinnykin Designs. She created some GREAT custom pieces for me. See above and below.

Jenny was unable to attend the shower but still made an appearance by sending a gift card & custom "Bridgette Blair" stationary. I can't wait to use this JENNY!!

A BIG THANK YOU TO KATHERINE & JENNY!! Can't wait to write some notes.

What was he making???

Some of you read the post "Hard at work....." and were wondering what bridesmaid, Jeannie's husband Sam was making.

At my shower last week, I received this very thoughtful gift. FORKS!

Custom forks made especially for Ryan and I when we eat our wedding cake together. At the top of the fork "I Do & Me Too " is engraved. At the bottom of the fork, our wedding date is engraved as well. It's placed nicely in a shadow box for display for the rest of our lives. It was so creative and thoughtful. I loved it so much. I'm so lucky to have people like Jeannie and Sam in my life. Ryan and I can't wait to use our custom forks on our wedding day. Our cake is now going to taste even better.....YUMMM!
