Today, Ryan and I booked our airline tickets. Did you know North Carolina is known for it's history in aeronautics? In 1903, the Wright Brothers successfully flew their first flight that lasted 12 seconds and covered 120 feet, in the town of Kitty Hawk. Kitty Hawk was a prime location for the Wright Brothers to attempt their first flight, because of the soft sand ideal for landing, and high winds for piloting a glider. Over the next few years the Wright Brothers improved their designs and made longer flights in Europe and other places, but returned to Kitty Hawk in 1908 to make the first two man flight in history.
