Ribbon Wreath

I have a friend on Facebook that's been making some fun wreaths lately.   One of her wreaths caught my eye since it was made up of different colored ribbons.  I decided to put my own craftiness to work over the weekend. Since, 4th of July & Memorial Day is around the corner it's only appropriate to go with a "red, white, and blue" theme.

Not too bad for the first time, right?

The person I made this for received it yesterday and I think she loved it!  Here it is hanging in her home.

Hmmmm... this craft is addicting. Time to make another one!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day this year was a little strange but a good strange.  I woke up yesterday morning wanting to call my mom but I couldn't since my parents are currently away on a European trip.  I've Skyped with them a few times since they have been away but as of yesterday morning it had been a week since I had last spoken to them.  I decided to fill my morning with phone calls to family and friends to wish them a "Happy Mother's Day."  As I called my god-mother, Janet she informed me that she was at the hospital with my grandpa.  After hearing the news, I finished my calls and headed to the hospital.  I guess my whole family had the same idea because before I knew it my grandpa's room was filled with people.  It felt like it was a family reunion.

As I sat there with my grandpa my phone started buzzing.  I couldn't believe it..... it was my mother "skyping/calling" from Barcelona.  She had no idea that her dad was in the hospital. I was so SHOCKED and her timing was impeccable.  She was able to see/talk to my grandpa and the whole family. I was so happy to hear from her!  I've missed talking to her everyday and ready for her to return home.  As for my grandpa, he appears to be doing fine and hope he gets out of the hospital today.  He was in GREAT spirits yesterday with all his love ones around.

I missed my mom yesterday but I was able to spend the day with my family. Unexplained blessings.

Black & White Ball: DECOR

Every year my company holds an awards ceremony at our Spring Conference and this year I either got tasked/volunteered to design the centerpieces and runners. This year's theme was a "Black and White Ball."  The committees requirements for the arrangements were something tall, unique, touches of red, two styles and of course black and white.  Usually, my wheels are turning when I have new projects but this was actually kind of tough.  It took me a few weeks to come up with a few things after some trial and error.

Here's the final product.

It's glowing!
I was able to make the arrangements glow by using some LED lights found at Joann's.  You can immerse them in water.  How cool is that?!  I also used "water beads"  for a fun look as well.

The black and white "damask" fabric featured in the photo are the runners I made for the tables.

Here's some of the photo's I took from that evening.
Please note that this set up and event took a lot of work from a great committee! I was just a small role in the whole process and glad to be a part of it.

A week in Sedona

It's been a few days since I last blogged but I'm back.  I was lucky enough to spend the week in Sedona and ohhhh the weather was perfect.  It was sprinkling/raining when I arrived on Tuesday and the smell of the fresh rain was refreshing.  It's funny how I miss rain now that I live in the desert and thoroughly enjoy it when I get it. Something about being in Sedona is peaceful and breath-taking.  I wish I had more time to explore and maybe next time I can experience one of the famous " vortexes."

Call Me Maybe- Harvard

Lissette & My Uncle, Oscar
(Taken at her dance recital last Friday )

My cousin, Lissette is one of the reasons why I stay young since she is always keeping me up to date with pop culture.  She's always SINGING the latest song and for some reason those songs are just too damn catchy! Even if I don't want to like the song it still gets suck in my head.

Here's a catchy song for you!

I guess... I'm not the only one!  Harvard baseball, what?!
Enjoy this cute video!

Barbara's Visit to AZ

Do you remember September bride, Barbara?  Well... guess what??  She's due to have a little one this August/September.   I'm so happy and excited for her and her husband.
They will be welcoming a baby girl into this world.

Barbara came to visit a week or two ago and I got the opportunity to see her twice!  She had set-up a Jamba Juice date with me on a Friday.  Little did she know that her best friend and sisters were throwing her a surprise baby shower the next day.  She had asked about my weekends plans and I told her I was attending a  "birthday party" on Saturday ( yup... all lies).  Sorry... I had to lie to the pregnant woman!

She's resting her drinking on her "bump"!

My attempt to capture a picture of us!

The BUMP!

The next day, we all meet at this lovely gazebo in Gilbert that sat near a lake.  It was a beautiful day here in AZ and I remember the wind softly blowing.  Her sisters and best friend, Lily did a great job with the baby shower.  It was beautiful and of course tons of fun.  I was HORRIBLE at the games but it made for good laughs. Also the best part..... Barbara was soooo SURPRISED!

Keeping My Head Above Water

Ugh.... this week has been a crazy but good week.   Work has been consuming all of my time and evenings as I'm prepping for our Annual Spring Conference and this year it's in Sedona, AZ.  I'm looking forward to it but so much work must be done before heading there next week.

ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzz!  Coffee is a MUST this morning.

I have some fun things to share with you all soon... I promise.  I hope everyone has been having a lovely week.
