Happy Birthday Jeannie!

Today is a special day since it's Jeannie's birthday. This chica has brought me so much joy in my life. She seriously has the best heart and soul and I'm so lucky to have her as a friend. I called her the "crier" at my wedding since every time she looked at me should would start crying. It was such a sweet moment that I will always remember. Have a wonderful day Jeannie!! Wish I was there to take you out for a cup of coffee.

Wedding Gifts-Thank You

Ryan and I are very grateful for all the shower & wedding gifts we received throughout our wedding process and were very thankful to all that traveled to North Carolina to be part of our special day. We decided to do a special thank you for the gifts we received at our wedding. Our "birdcage" was full and it was great to read all the wonderful cards. Everyone had such wonderful words of wisdom and special thoughts to share with us. I truly enjoyed reading each card.

We are still receiving gifts so if you've sent something recently your "thank you" is in the mail :)

Our card included a custom greeting on the front.
A special address wrap!

Custom stamp

Also, some pictures to share!

Thank you again to everyone! We love you!

Dancing Machines!

Isn't it funny how songs can bring you right back to a moment in your life. Lately, I have been listening to the radio more and every time I hear these certain songs it brings me back to the wedding. Funny thing, these two songs were not on my original request list and I honestly didn't know about these songs until after the wedding. I'm so glad they were requested because I had a blast dancing to them. As I think everyone else did as well.

Judging by these pictures, everyone was a DANCING machine that evening. I would say about 90% of our wedding guests were on the dance floor the whole time. I felt like I was at a night club with my closest 100 friends and family. It was great!

Here's the two songs below!

Time to get real! Curls Gone Wild!

It's time to get real ......................and I need your encouragement.

Lets start from the beginning.... I was born with CURLY HAIR!

Actually, my hair growing up wasn't that bad because it was more wavy than curly.

As I approached my teen years, my hair decided to grow a mind of it's own and got curlier.
This is when the struggle began to tame it.

*High School*
My mother has straight hair so she was clueless and wasn't sure where to begin. Being the good mother that she is she seeked help from everyone. I started with chemical straighteners as most girls do with curly hair. Anything to tame the FRO, right!!! Well, as I got into college, I got tired of the chemicals and switched to just blowing drying and flat irons.

Since I can remember, I have always had compliments on my curly hair. I was always told " people pay big bucks for those curls." Something in my brain never truly believed it. Honestly, it's still hard to believe but I'm working on it.

*Curly hair in college*

A few months ago, I was told about a hair salon in Phoenix that specializes in curly hair, Curls Gone Wild. At the time, I was too busy with the wedding planning to check it out. Also, it's not always a good idea to try new hair styles right before you get married.

Two weeks ago, I made an appointment with the ladies of Curls Gone Wild. They cut my hair curly (this was a first for me)! They focused on each curl and how each curl bounced. Such a crazy concept but pretty cool. The whole process took about two hours. They introduced me to some new curly hair products, DevaCurl. Before I left for the evening, they also reminded me once again " people pay big bucks for those curls."

As I left that evening, I decided to give my curls a fighting chance. God gave me this hair so I need to embrace it, right?!

Well, I'm trying to embrace it. I have worn my hair curly for two weeks straight now.
A big thanks to everyone that has been so encouraging. I need it!

Oh yes, have I mentioned that my hair has gotten curlier since college. YES, CURLIER! OMG!

My husband has been so great and prefers the curls!

Wish me luck... here we go!

The CAR

One of my favorite details from our wedding was the white 1962 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud with the custom "BLAIR" license plate. Many of you have asked how I got this idea....well..... Have you seen the movie " My Best Friend's Wedding?" I remember seeing this movie back in 1997 and loved the last scene when the couple was driving off.

WATCH HERE!

I had hoped that one day I would have a similar scene in my life which I think was pretty darn close. Honestly, I think it was BETTER because before I took off I was able to take one last look at all my loved ones. A very special moment and our amazing photographer, Robyn Van Dyke was able to capture it. Thank you Robyn!

Birthday Bridge

Last week, I turned 29 years old! You know what that means........I'm a year away from the BIG birthday. I spent my birthday week at a conference in Oro Valley, AZ and away from my husband for the first time since we got married. Yeah, I will admit it. I missed him. :)
