Bridesmaid Dress

Many of you read or commented on which bridesmaid dress Kimber should choose for her wedding.
If you want to catch up, read here.

I know Kimber Lee appreciated all your comments. Unfortunately, all those dresses I featured on the blog were $300 ++. We found this out afterwards and I know she wanted a beautiful dress for us but something that was more reasonable.

Here's the final pick! We are ordering it in black!
I was pretty excited to order it over the weekend. My favorite part of this dress was the pockets! The dress should be arriving sometime in June. I can't wait for this September wedding. Good times ahead!

and..... I said YES

A year ago today, Ryan asked me to be his wife and of course.... I SAID YES! I can't believe this journey has already been a year. A year of engagement and marriage and it's been so much fun.

If you haven't heard our proposal story... click here!

Yesterday, we decided to revisit the proposal site and immediately I was flooded with the memories of our special day that it brought me to tears. It's funny because I remember a year ago driving to this shopping center and parking in front of this shop. A WEDDING SHOP!

How ironic! A year later... it's still there with the bride in the front window.

Our Walk

I'm EXCITED to be there!

The rest of the evening was spent at "The Melting Pot" for dinner.
Thanks to our friends Kelly and Justin our dinner was covered! THANK YOU!

It was PERFECT!!
I couldn't wait for the best part-----DESSERT!

Childhood: Losing a piece

Kimber Lee & I have been friends since the age of 5 and have shared so many memories along the way. This weekend, Kimber Lee is in Charlotte visiting her childhood home and sadly saying good bye. Her parents built this beautiful home many moons ago and now the city is building a highway through it.

Kimber Lee's parents

I knew this time would come eventually since it has been in the works for years but now it's time and it's heart-breaking. I feel I'm losing a piece of my childhood.

Kimber Lee's home was my second home and personal playground. Many many cherished memories! Playing croquet in the front yard, playing dress up in her sister's room, ELVIS, warm hugs, 1st grade drawings, GRITS, sleep-overs, troll dolls (Kimber's room), playing "house" in the wooden clubhouse outside, running around the woods, parties and many more. Like I said.......this is heartbreaking.

Even though this house will soon be gone it will leave behind a legacy of
LOVE, FRIENDSHIP & FAMILY!

Mallard Creek home... I will miss you!

The backyard use to be ALL TREES! They have already started tearing the surrounding areas.

The front yard-- Memories of playing croquet.

BEST MARGARITA!

Last night, I went to dinner with my husband and brother -in-law, Tom at a local Mexican restaurant. Tom introduced me to the restaurant specialty drink called " Margarita The Great."

The thought of having a Corona in the mix sounded ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE but to my dismay it was the BEST MARGARITA EVER!

Tom- full of smiles!

Ellen on the Bachelor?

I watch the Bachelor & Bachelorette almost every season. This season has been really bad (at least in my opinion) and have totally lost faith in this Bachelor's judgement. The season finale is on Monday ... so we shall see who he picks. In the mean time, did you know Ellen Degeneres was on the bachelor this season? Here's some Friday humor for you. ENJOY!

Daria?

I'm just having one of those weeks! Yesterday, I realized I was looking and acting like Daria. I think I was ready for this week to be over!

HELLO FRIDAY!!

TED-Babies

Are you a TED fan? I'm a NERD, so of course I'm a TED fan! I love learning new things and one of these days I would love to attend one of their conferences.

Babies have been a popular topic on this blog since all my friends are getting pregnant and having babies. I came across this video and found it fascinating. ENJOY!
