Where We Belong

Need a good book to read?  Here you go!

I read this book while I was on a vacation a month ago and couldn't put it down for 2-3 days.  I left the book behind for my mother to read.  Yup.... she became addicted to the book and couldn't put it down as well.  Emily Giffin's books are the best and I love her style of writing.

UNC Pop Tarts

Yesterday, I received a package at work.  Strange?! I didn't order anything.
When I opened the box the receipt was addressed to my colleague.  This was a little confusing at first until she told me....this was my BIRTHDAY GIFT!

I'm sure you can imagine my face of excitement!!

Last day in my twenties

All my friends and loved ones have been giving me a hard time about turning the big 3-0!  Today's my last day in my twenties (as I've been reminded almost everyday for a week.... actually a month).  See picture below as proof from Facebook!

As a farewell to my twenties, I wanted to pay homage to my youth!  Mr. Timberlake..... N'Sync!  I jammed to them all during high school. Justin recently got married about a week ago and it was a reminder of how quickly time flies!  Do you remember him as an N"Syncer??!

On my last day as a 29 year old....... I will be jamming to songs such as this one.

Don't you love the FASHION!??

I think I'm going to have this song stuck in my head all day!  Happy Friday!

Friendship Quote

This is for all my friends.....

“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one.” ― C.S. Lewis

Carnegie Hall & Congratulations

This past weekend, I wished I could have been in New York to see
my cousin, Candice perform at Carnegie Hall.

Can we say...... AMAZING!

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to my cousin!

Taken the night of her performance with a good friend.

Candice is not only brilliant, kind, and humble, she's also a talented opera singer.
She knows I'm one of her biggest fans! WHOOP! WHOOP!

Obviously, I don't have footage from this past weekend,
but here's something for you all to hear, her remarkable voice. ENJOY!

Party Favors: Garrison/Biles Wedding

The Garrison/Biles wedding reception included two stations of fun that also served as GREAT party favors.

Station 1: Caricature Drawings
The line for this was soooooooooooo long and everyone wanted a drawing.  At the bottom of each photo, the artist wrote "Kimber & Joshua's Wedding September 22, 2012."  This was such a great keepsake and wish I had the opportunity to get a drawing but every time I looked up the line was super long.

Station 2: Flip Books

This station was a BLAST!  Guests walked into a booth to shoot a 15 second video.  Later, the video was made into a flip book.  Such a clever idea!  It was my first time making a flip book.  We had so much fun with this booth that we did it TWICE.

This was the 2nd time around.....we found out they had PROPS!

B-Miller, X-Facor

Are any of you watching X-Factor this season?  Honestly, I haven't been a big fan of the show and watch it here and there when nothing else is on.
A week or so ago, I was watching it when this little 13 year girl blew me away.

 Seriously, 13?

My vote to win this year is Beatrice Miller!  Check out the clip below.

Hmmmm...  I think I'm going to start calling her B-Miller!  It's a better stage name.
Soulful at such a young age!  Love it.

Sing it B!

Learning a new dance!

A few weeks back, I learned a new dance at Kimber's wedding called "Wobble Baby."  I seriously have never heard this song in my life until I found myself on the dance floor confused when the song started playing and wedding guests flooding the dance floor with excitement.  The excitement of everyone around me sparked my interest and I had to stay to see what the hype was about.  I watched my friend Mikey, and I tried to follow the leader.  After a few tries, I caught up and started enjoying the dance!  So addicting!   It's like dancing to "The Cupid Shuffle" or "The Electric Slide".   I'm hosting a birthday party next weekend and I'm soooooo going to be playing "Wobble Baby"!  DANCE PARTY!

The pictures below were taken by my husband, Ryan. Catching us dancing!

Hmmm.. my eyes are closed....  Good or bad sign?

Mikey & Laurie were my dance partners!  So much fun!

Here's the song and video.  This isn't a good reflection of the dance but it's something.
Happy Friday!

20? 30?

This past weekend, I was carded at breakfast for a bloody mary and then later mistaken for a 21 year old while buying a Halloween costume.  Ahhhhhh... this made my weekend.  As I approach my 30's very soon it's not a bad thing to be mistaken for young.

Wow, my 20's just flew by......it went so quickly!  Where did the time go?  I've enjoyed my life in my 20's and learned a lot of life lessons as well.  I guess that's part of growing up and grateful to be at where I'm at now.

Speaking of age......
This weekend, we were invited by some friends to attend a charity event for the 20/30's club of Scottsdale.

The event was an evening to remember with free drinks, food, live bands, mermaids and fancy cars.  We had a blast and it was fun to party with 20 to 30 something year olds of Arizona.

Photographer to Friend

A few weeks ago, Robyn Van Dyke, our wedding photographer, followed my family around downtown Raleigh while capturing some amazing family pictures. We had this photo session planned months in advance and mother nature was trying to take over that day with tons of rain.  Thank goodness the rain stopped for our photo session.

I feel so fortunate to call Robyn a friend now. Not only did she capture our wedding but she now captured my beautiful family.  This is something that means a lot to me right now as my mom fights her battle again.  Thank you Robyn for being a part of the special times of the Walker/Blair family.

The Walker/Blair pictures will be featured at a later time.
We are saving those photos for Christmas!

Here's some fun ones while hanging out with Robyn.

Halloween Wreath

This weekend, I caught up on my Halloween shopping and drank my first pumpkin spice latte of the fall season.  Ohhh... that drink is so good.  I'm now hoping for some cooler weather so I can rock some boots and scarves.  It's a little brisk this morning but I can't get too excited since we have a high of 93.

As I was thinking about Halloween, I forgot to blog about the Halloween wreath I made for a charity event called Tea for Teal which I will blog about later this week. Check out step by step photos below.
