Magic Mike - Holler!

I'm not even going to lie.....I want to see this movie!  What woman doesn't want to see these guys and their amazing bodies?  Holy moly!!   Especially Channing Tatum! Caliente!  I don't even know the premise of the movie but I really don't care.   But.... to my SHOCK...I read reviews yesterday and it's actually getting decent ratings.

Where do I begin?  Well... Three weeks ago, as some of you may remember Carey had her baby shower.  Little did we know, Baby Eliza was going to grace this earth almost a week later.  I remember getting a text message from Carey that Monday morning stating "I'm going into an emergency c-section."  I can remember my heart dropping and thinking...wait...wait....the baby isn't due till July 22.   Also, when did Carey have time to text all her friends when she's about to have a baby??!!  haha  Love that Carey!

As I said before, Baby Eliza graced this earth on June 11, 2012 at 2lbs 7oz.  

Immediately, she was surrounded with love, family, friends and a lot of prayers. As you can imagine, the last two weeks have been challenging for my friends, Carey and Kyle.

Their days are filled with one main objective: ounces.  Gaining Ounces!   From what I've heard, Baby Eliza is a fighter and a good eater as well!  She's fighting for her ounces.  Each day, we get an update on if she has gained an ounce!  Each time we hear the wonderful news, it's rejoiced throughout Facebook!


The another day, I enjoyed reading this status from Carey's dad that read:

Many of you have asked.....How can you help??  Here's how you can:  MEAL TRAIN!  Click Here.  This will help with their time and allow them to focus on their hospital visits with their daughter. Who ever thought of this idea... is BRILLIANT!

A Baby book: Lucas

Yesterday, I received this adorable book from Kelly & Justin showcasing their first son, Lucas.  Such a thoughtful and creative gift.  Isn't he precious?!  I'm looking forward to finally meeting him in a couple of months.

Bridesmaid dress panic!

Yesterday morning, I decided to call the bridal store where I had ordered my bridesmaid dress for Kimber's wedding.  I ordered the dress in March and it should have arrived in early June.  To my dismay, the store's number was disconnected. I immediately re-dialed and still got the same message.  Then I started to Google and found this article....here.  Yes, the store did indeed close.  Hmmmmm.. this means I still don't have a bridesmaid dress and the wedding is 3 months away as of today!  You can probably imagine the straight manic in my face.  You also have to keep in mind that it usually takes bridesmaid dresses 3 months to be made and shipped.

My journey of calling my credit card and the designer yesterday was TONS of FUN (I say that sarcastically) .  Finally after a few hours, I got some good news from the designer that they could get me a dress here by July 13th!!  Hallelujah!   Let's just hope I get a refund from the original purchase I made with the bridal shop.  I'm still crossing my fingers on that one..

Time flies....

Today is my cousin's Alden's 30th birthday!  He is the oldest grandchild on my mother's side and I'm the second oldest (first girl).  I found these pictures on my desktop this morning and realized it was just yesterday!  I laughed at the bottom picture because I think that was the last time I was taller than all my cousins (age 12).  I swear life goes by so quickly and I'm trying to keep up!  Enjoy the photos...memory lane.

The Nicole Wreath

Lately, I've been making some fun wreaths....so....I like to introduce the NICOLE WREATH!  haha  I think my sister-in-law, Nicole has a passion for wreaths as well!  With her polka-dot top and smiling face---I think she's in the right direction.

This picture was taken Sunday night at my in-laws new home.  The previous owner had this wreath hanging above the fire place and it took 4 guys to take it down.  We all agreed it screamed the 80's!  Including the dust! Yuck!

WHAT A MESS! This isn't even half of it! 

Grandpa Day!

Father's Day weekend was spent with a lot of amazing men, including my grandfather, Oscar.  Saturday night,  we wined and dined with him at one of our favorite restaurants at the Biltmore. Judging by my Grandpa's face I think he thoroughly enjoyed himself.  This smile was important to me!  My own father is thousands of miles away but he was also appreciated as well!

On Friday, I received some horrific news that a family friend lost his dad unexpectedly while they were on vacation. My heart hurts for this family since they had to spend their Father's day weekend reflecting and mourning the man they lost.  Heartbreaking.   It made me so THANKFUL to have my father and grandpa in my life.  Life is short so you have to appreciate your loved ones!

That's why----this father's day------ Grandpa got spoiled with love!

Cupcake Experiment: 232 days

Yesterday, someone asked me about "THE CUPCAKE!"  I responded.... oh yeah....it's still alive!  The last time I blogged about it was in February...see here.  Click here for the 100 day blog with all the photos.   I basically gave up blogging on the cupcake because I came to the conclusion that it will never mold.  This is pretty sad and a good reminder of the preservatives (aka junk)  we put into our bodies.  Don't get me wrong..... I llllloooove a sweet treat here and there but after this experiment I realized the significance of eating right.  Also, if you plan to eat a sweet treat make sure it's fresh and not loaded with preservatives.  CHEERS to the last cupcake experiment picture!

Congratulations to the lovely couple!  I haven't personally met Katie (the bride) but I will in 3 short months at  Kimber Lee's upcoming wedding.  We will be fellow bridesmaids!
